Software review
Let’s start our review of GG Network with an analysis of the game client. The software is made at a high level and meets modern requirements for functionality, reliability, speed and convenience. Some rooms have funny features, for example, emoji of poker pros, representing this or that room. Many of the actions are animated, which is also popular with recreational players. Naturally, the animation can be turned off in order to speed up the game process and reduce the load on the hardware.
Considering that the network in question is aimed at attracting amateurs, Hold’em Manager is not supported in the GG Network, as well as other third-party statistics collection programs. Even if you can use this software with the help of converters, you risk getting a ban with confiscation of all funds. Nevertheless, the internal capabilities of the client of the GG Network rooms allow collecting some statistics: VPIP, winning percentage, etc. You can make notes, mark opponents with colours, view your own statistics and analyse the game taking into account various parameters (position at the table, hand, opponent, etc. .)
GG Network poker rooms have many unique features that other popular poker rooms lack. So, you can fold the board two or three times if your opponent agrees to do so when you go all-in. As a result, the likelihood of winning with the best hand increases, resulting in lower variance. Some of the rooms in the GG network offer to use the all-in insurance function. This means that when you put it up, you pay some part of the pot, and if your strongest hand gets moved, you still win (minus the amount of insurance).
The traffic and the choice of games
The GG Network is rapidly gaining popularity, and its traffic is increasing every year. Today, during peak hours (from 16.00 to 21.00 European time), more than 10.000 people play simultaneously. Average daily attendance is 6-7 thousand players. The most popular here are cash tables in the 6-max format. The minimum limit is only $ 2 and the maximum can exceed NL1000. Most of the game is focused on the low stakes. Approximately 20 tables are played at the rates of 5/10 dollars, at the limits of NL200 – two times less. On average, five tables are collected at the limits NL600 and NL1K.
It should be noted that pot-limit Omaha in the GG Network is practically not inferior in traffic to no-limit Hold’em. Also, in the rooms of this network, such a game format as All-in or Fold, which is played at 4-max tables, is popular. This format is presented at stakes ranging from $ 25 to $ 1000. The distinctive feature of AoF is the short starting stack of only 4-8bb. With so many chips, players almost always have to make one of two decisions – push or fold, hence the name of the game.
Fast poker can also be played at the GG Network rooms. You can choose from four available limits: $ 1, $ 10, $ 50 or $ 100. In this format, one more mandatory bet is added to the blinds – an ante of 2BB. On average, at each limit, except for the most expensive, 100 people gather, so there is enough action.
The multi-table tournament grid includes many events with large guaranteed funds. On weekends, tournaments with increased guarantees are traditionally held. Satellites are always organised for expensive series, costing from one cent. Therefore, all GG Network players, regardless of their bankroll, have a chance to get to the largest tournaments (including live ones).
GG Network rake
The rake structure in GG Network depends on the limit played and the number of participants in the distribution. A 5% commission is deducted from the pots played in Hold’em cash games. The maximum rake value is limited by the cap, which is different for each limit. So, at the NL1000 limit, the cap is $ 10 when playing 1 on 1. If there are 2 or more players in the hand, then for a similar table the maximum commission will be $ 20. Pot-limit Omaha is played with a rake of 3%, there is no cap at such cash tables.
GG Network rakeback
Rakeback in GG Network is paid in accordance with the occupied level of the Fish Buffet loyalty program, which has been operating in the network’s rooms since 2017. In order to move up the levels of the reward system, you need to earn fish buffet points, which are issued for the generated rake. For every cent of the rake, 1 point is added, and in happy hours this value is doubled.
When you move to a new level, you will be given an instant prize, which is randomly selected, but cannot go beyond the limits indicated for this level. In total, the loyalty system provides 8 statuses and 24 levels. The higher the step, the higher the rakeback percentage. So, at the lowest level, you will return 15% of the rake. Upon reaching the highest level, the rakeback in GG Network will be 50%. By participating in rake races, you can increase its value up to 100%.

GG Network Poker rooms
The GG Network includes a large number of rooms, but the most popular are GGPoker and GGPokerOK. The first poker room was formed in 2017 and became the flagship room of the network. This room gained particular popularity among European players, and until 2019 it attracted poker players from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and other CIS countries. Now players from these countries get access to the GG Network through the new GGPokerOK room. It features a support service in Russian, a Russian-language interface and access to payment systems that are popular in the CIS countries. Otherwise, both rooms are almost identical.
The main advantage of the GG Network poker rooms is the software, which has a stylish and funny design, many unique features and funny animation. The GGPoker client has recently undergone changes. Now, in this room you cannot view the players at the tables from the lobby and take seats at a specific table. You can only select the required limit, and the system will automatically put you at a random table. Also, you cannot sit out at only one table, you will automatically become inactive at all other tables. All this is aimed at improving the playing conditions for recreational poker players. Although the regulars quickly adapted to the changes and did not suffer much from them.
Why is it profitable to play at GGPoker
As you know, Asian players are not very skilled, so they are easy prey for a more or less experienced poker player. Considering that GGPoker is primarily an Asian network, the field strength in it is rather weak. Of course, the lack of support for poker trackers makes grinding difficult, but for the regulars, GG is a profitable network. The rake points allocation system takes into account the source of the money (losing players get higher rake), so recreational players will have higher rakeback. Nevertheless, with active play and reaching the highest levels of the loyalty system, regulars can receive very high cash-back, up to 100%.
GGPoker offers a wide range of poker formats and disciplines, among which everyone can choose the right game for themselves. Moreover, the game is played at any limits around the clock. Tournament buffs will find plenty of regular events with big guarantees and frequent overlays. The presence of such functions as triple distribution of the board and bet insurance reduces the influence of the luck factor on the outcome of the game. Therefore, if you are a plus player, you will be able to avoid long down-streams.
