The WPN (Winning Poker Network) has announced a new tournament, The Venom. This time, compared to the previous similar event, the prize pool has been increased by two million dollars, and now it is $ 10 million! Players can even qualify for the tournament for free – read about this and much more below.

Brief description of the event:

  • Dates: from July 23 to August 4 2021;
  • Main event buy-in: $2650;

  • Unlimited re-entries;
  • Starting stack: 187.5 BB;

The structure of the tournament is as follows: the event has 4 flights, in each of which you can register directly for $ 2650, or qualify for them through satellites. Passing on the second day will not allow you to take part in other flights, even if you have a small stack. Qualifying flights are held with the usual structure up to level 29, after which the stack is automatically carried over to the second day.

This tournament has a record prize pool in the history of The Venom. In total, 4 tournaments were held, the maximum prize fund of which reached $ 8 million. This time, PokerKing promises two prizes of over a million dollars at once, which will go to the first and second place players.

How to qualify for the main event?

There are several ways to qualify for The Venom with a buy-in of $ 2650. Firstly, you can take part in regular satellites, or you can get to the main event through special mega-satellites. Let’s take a look at all the methods in more detail.

Venom Blitz Cyclones Steps is a network of tournaments with 9 buy-in levels. The first starts at $ 0.11, and the last, ninth, has an admission fee of $ 880. The player can independently choose the level from which he will start the selection, and to move on to the next stage, you need to fill 5000 chips at the table. All qualifiers are held in Blitz Poker mode.

Venom On Demand Steps is a similar satellite network, also consisting of 9 levels. The only difference is that tournaments are held in the On Demand format. If you are not ready to take risks, then, since July 19, special free-rolls are being held in the room, the prizes in which are entrances to the first level;

Venom On Demand Skips – A tournament grid with 5 levels, similar to Venom On Demand Steps;

Venom Fever are special mega satellites in which entrances directly to The Venom are played out. You can take part in such a qualifying tournament either through the above grids or through the Venom Fever satellites. The guaranteed prize pool is 886 tickets at $ 2650.

Updates in the PokerKing client

Client updates were released in the PokerKing room, including:

  • Sound effects during the game and the opening of a new Blitz table – new sound effects have been added to the client, for example, when a jackpot is dropped in SnG tournaments;
  • Ability to disable animation in Blitz Poker – if you wish, you can disable animations to reduce the load on the system;
  • Changes to multi-day tournaments – when participating in multi-day tournaments, you will not be able to play flights if you already have an entrance on the second day;
  • Increased security – players using prohibited software will be subject to additional checks and blocking;
  • Bankroll inheritance function – you can transfer your entire bankroll to another player in case of sudden death.

PPPoker Launches All-in or Fold Cash Tables

One of the most famous poker apps now supports a new cash table format called All-in or Fold. Now PPPoker players can create a similar table in the club and enjoy an exciting game! Let’s take a closer look at this innovation.

All-in or Fold (AOF) features

For about a year, the PPPoker room has not released any significant updates regarding the game variety in the room. The last such innovation was 3-1 Hold’em, but now things are different. The previous mode turned into a permanent one and passed from the test mode. Now players have access to tables in AoF format.

There are no fundamental differences between AoF PPPoker and other rooms:

  • The game is played at tables for four players;
  • Starting stack and size before purchase is limited to 8 BB;
  • After receiving cards, players have only two options, namely push and fold.

Such tables are created with a temporary limitation of the action – they are automatically deleted after a few hours if the game is not being played at them.

Why did they add this particular format?

Fast AoF poker is gaining popularity rapidly. This format was previously added by two rooms at once:

  1. KKpoker has replenished its gaming assortment with these types of cash tables in the spring;
  2. PokerBros announced similar tables in April, but in a tournament format, which, of course, are already in full swing.

Of course, neither these rooms, nor PPPoker became the pioneers and inventors of the format. He has been a member of GGNetwork for several years now, where AoF poker fans gather.

Most likely, the connection of the new format is due to the desire of the room to attract new players, mostly recreational ones. It is extremely difficult to beat AoF, and this is possible only in case of high rakeback, or special promotions, such as jackpots in GGNetwork.

The main event

The main event, which will take place on July 25th, received almost the same buy-in and prize pool. Why practically? The fact is that this time all the main events are nominated in euros, therefore, in comparison with the previous series, the prize fund has increased by about 20%. Apparently, this was done to attract more poker players from European countries.

Description of the main event:

  • Dates: from 18 to 25 July;
  • Buy-in: €550;
  • Number of flights: 58 tournaments;
  • Final day: July, 25, 11:30 PM (MSK);
  • Starting stack: 250 BB;
  • Blinds: 12 minutes;
  • Re-entry: re-entrances are not limited during late registration, i.e. up to level 17.

Please note that you can take part in any number of flights, however, only the largest of them will be transferred to the second day.

Leaderboard

Most likely, the online series Battle of Malta will be announced in the fall. The fact is that the winners of the leaderboard will receive prizes in the form of packages for offline tournaments:

  • 1st place – a package worth € 3200, which includes a seven-day stay in a five-star hotel, tickets to the main and high roller events, as well as money for travel expenses;
  • 2nd and 3rd places – € 2200 package, which includes 7 nights in a five-star hotel, main event ticket and travel expenses;
  • Places from 4 to 10 – € 1600 package – 4 nights at the hotel, main event ticket and travel expenses;
  • Places from 11 to 20 –€ 800 package – main event entrance and travel expenses.

Leaderboard points are calculated using the following formula:

Points = f * sqrt (Prize pool / k), where k — the place where the player finished and f is the special coefficient (х2 for the 1st place, x1.5 for the final table,  x1.0 for ITM, bubble crash — x0,5).

Apparently, these prizes will be available in November 2021, when the offline series is expected.
